Self Service Baggage Tags

Unlike trained airport personnel at the check-in counters, travellers have no experience with baggage tags. When checking in at CUSS (Common User Self Service) or proprietary self service terminals, passengers frequently ask for assistance. However, these self service terminals are supposed to operate without additional service staff.

BARTSCH refines the 3-ply tear resistant thermal paper in-house and can thus print instructions, logos, pictures etc to both sides of the thermal paper prior to creating the paper complex.Additionally, a signal colour "Pull Off" stripe is implemented to highlight where the release liner should be removed .

As soon as the traveller removes the release liner, instructions printed to the thermal paper stock appear and guide the traveller how to attach the tag to the luggage and how to stick the tag together. This procedure is unique in the market and patented. Conventional manufacturers of bag tags purchase standard paper complex and thus can neither print both sides of the thermal paper, nor can they implement release aids.

Success rate
In the past CUSS terminals failed with regard to the baggage tags, because it was not obvious for the passengers how to attach the tag to their luggage. With our patented tags, the success rate is much higher.

Competitiveness
By refining paper, BARTSCH  integrates additional steps in its pro-duction processes to improve and monitor quality as well as reduce costs. At BARTSCH thermal papers, polypropylene foils and release liners are purchased separately. In this way, BARTSCH is not dependent on volatile market prices for complex compound mate-rials.

Partnerships
BARTSCH cooperates with a number CUSS and self service terminal manufacturers and is always at the cutting edge of technology.
